Riverscapes

Riverscapes captures the enduring relationship of water, snow, ice, stone, and vegetation found within the magnificent Cache la Poudre River canyon of northern Colorado.  The interplay of bold forms, textures, subtle hues, reflective light, sound, and energy both soothes and excites my being.

The “Poudre” is the only remaining free flowing non-dammed river in the state of Colorado.  The U.S. Congress designated sixty-three miles of the canyon as a national “Wild & Scenic River” in 1973.  While living in Fort Collins for 23 years, I was truly fortunate to have this beautiful canyon as my favorite playground for fly fishing, cooling off, and connecting with nature.  I now realize that I’ll have to leave the fly-rod home and spend more time photographing this Colorado gem.
